SEKTR (pronounced like "sector") is a 501c6 coalition of area chambers, cities, counties, visitor bureaus, and others working together to promote our corner of the state as a destination for leisure travelers and event planners. It is one of six regional coalitions created by Kansas Tourism, a division of the Kansas Department of Commerce, for hospitality and travel education, to exchange information, suggest action items, and get input.
The Southeast Kansas region consists of 16 counties, designated by the state office, and basically goes from Sedan in the southwest to LaCygne in the northeast, and Emporia in the northwest to Route 66 in the southeast.
For more information, including how to become a member, please contact our Chair, Chari Bauman of the Coffey County Chamber of Commerce.
